nepali life

LIFE IN NEPAL - Overview
There are a lot of ethnic groups in Nepal (like Newari, Tamang, Rai, Limbu, and many more) and there are many religions too: Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, etc.

Food
Dal bhat is the most common dish in Nepal. Dal is a soup made from lentils, and bhat means cooked rice. Another substitute for rice is made form corn flour, more popular in the countryside (Nepali word: dedo). Along with dal bhat are many side dishes: sundried vegetables and meats such as gundruk made from greens and sukuti made from meat, etc. Other popular Nepali foods are momo (dumplings), thukpa (soup), chow mein, etc. Nepali people like spicy food!

You know Nepal’s capital is Kathmandu. Kathmandu is made up of three districts: Bhaktapur, lalitpur, and Kathmandu. Many people think Nepal is a Himalayan country, but that’s not all. Of course, there’s Mt Everest (8,848 m), but there are other very good places in Nepal, for  example: Manang is a town in the Manang District of Nepal. It is located at 28°40'0N 84°1'0E with an altitude of 3,519 metres

Mustang District, a part of Gandaki Pradesh in of northern Nepal, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Jomsom as its headquarters, covers an area of 3,573 km² and has a population of 13,452. This is the best place for trekking in Nepal.
